OHIE Terminology Services Community, Fiscal Year Report 2013
The Terminology Services Community was formally created in January, 2013 to address issues of data comparability and interoperability within the OHIE. The Terminology Services component serves as the central authority within OHIE to uniquely identify the clinical activities that occur within the care delivery process by holding the “official” representation of international standard terminologies such as such as ICD10, LOINC, SNOMED, and maintaining correspondences, or “maps”, between locally-used code sets/dictionaries and these reference standards. The Terminology Service provides the “What?” in the OpenHIE architecture.
