As countries contemplate their implementation approaches to health data sharing, many are beginning to discern how to develop strengthen capacity in data exchange and other HIE related topics.   This community work together to create and/or share global goods that are focused on increasing the capacity to build is focused on working collectively to strengthen capacity to guild and support health information exchange architecture and processes.  projects through:  

• Identification and prioritization of training and capacity strengthening needs
• Identification, sharing and dissemination of existing global goods including guides and training resources
• Creation of global goods relating to training or guidance

This community is open to all who are interested in addressing the challenges and goals mentioned below.  

Initial Goals

for 2023 and 2024 

1. Establish a structure for moving forward together 
   1. Meeting / communication channels and connection points 
   2. Identification of a sub-community structure 
2. Identification of a roadmap for collaboration on shared priorities 
   1. Further identification and sharing of existing resources 
   2. Determine how the group can take steps toward building hands-on experiences for technical individuals
   3. What is needed to specifically encourage and strengthen capacity and engagement of women
   4. What are language needs and how do we address them
3. Build off 2019 Academy materials by enhancing them for different types of audiences, making them electronically available and piloting them in settings outside of the face-to-face academy session.  
4. Develop leaders who can share the materials at the OHIE 2020 face-to-face Community Meeting.  
5. Provide input in planning and executing Academy courses for 2020 OHIE Community Meeting.  
6. Seek opportunities to provide a community learning platform.  

Desired Outcomes 

1. Improve the development of technical competency for all who engage
2. Better courses for next year’s Academy 
3. Reusable platform / process 
4. opportunities for strengthening capacity 
5. Increased access to resources 
6. Increased impact through coordinated efforts Create something that can be shared through out the world via academics and labs
