  • Journal Article: Factors that Influence Data Use to Improve Health Service Delivery in Low- and Middle-Income Countries. This literature review, published in Global Health Science & Practice, found there was limited evidence to reliably conclude which factors influence data use.
  • Presentation: USAID Map and Match Activity. During our September 1st meeting, Merrick Schaefer, Development Informatics Team Lead for USAID’s Innovation Lab, presented on USAID’s Map and Match activity. The goal of this activity is to map global good adaptations and implementations for COVID-19 and to match the solutions to country needs.
  • Book: Invisible Women: Data Bias in a World Designed for Men by Caroline Criado Pérez discuss how the gender data gap creates invisible bias with a profound effect on women’s lives.

  • Training: OpenHIE Academy is a virtual learning source of free courses to increase support for better health information exchange architecture and process. This tool currently includes two introductory courses and will soon feature more advanced courses.

This article details a new conceptual framework for linkage to care, tailored to the current universal test and treat era that presents linkage to care as its own nuanced pathway within the larger HIV care cascade. Conceptualizing linkage to care in this way may help better identify and specify processes posing a barrier to linkage, and allow for the development of targeted implementation and behavioral science-based approaches to address them.
