Overview:
This Cognitive Collaborative Hackathon is an activity on the first and fifth days of the 2023 OpenHIE Community Meeting that will explore how underdeveloped/developing countries can adopt a multi-faceted approach to improve patient/client identification within a Client Demographics Registry, which may involve leveraging various data points such as national ID, biometrics, and demographic information. The session will be structured as an open discussion meant to engage participants from multiple countries. The objective of this session is to bring together professionals, experts, and policymakers from different countries to discuss and share ideas on how to design, implement, and sustain a patient identity processes and system that can improve patient identification and facilitate the creation of a robust client demographics registry.
Purpose:
The main purpose of this Cognitive Collaborative Hackathon is to develop a shared understanding of the role of the use of diverse forms of identification, including but not limited to national ID and demographic data, can aid in strengthening patient/client identification and facilitating the establishment of a sustainable client demographics registry. The session will explore how different countries have implemented national ID systems and client demographics registries, the challenges they faced, and the solutions they developed to overcome them. Through open discussion and collaborative learning, participants will identify best practices, challenges, and opportunities that can be applied to their respective countries. The ultimate goal is to provide participants with practical insights and actionable recommendations that can help them design, implement, and sustain a national patient ID system and client demographics registry in their countries.
Structure:
The Cognitive Collaborative Hackathon will be structured as an open discussion where participants from different countries will share their experiences, perspectives, and ideas. The discussion will be guided by a team of facilitators who will ensure that the session stays focused, productive, and engaging.
