Minutes:
  • PEPFAR Data Exchange Implementers Community Introduction
  • This call is the 4th weekly call of the PEPFAR DEIC. This call is the first instance of the call focused on MoH and PEPFAR information systems.
  • PEPFAR is moving towards trying to collect data close to the source hence these health information exchange communities have been stood up so allow for this and to allow to learn from each other's experiences.
  • Desire to understand ongoing effors in PEPFAR data exchange which is another reason this specfic call was stood up.
  • What does it mean to be an OHIE community?
  • Goal to move towards one M&E and system which has been an elusive goal.
  • PEPFAR came to OHIE due to a need to move towards a data exchange that is standards based.
  • Components each have a community and hold calls; Facility Registry, Health Worker Registry, Terminology Services, Client Registry, Health Management Information Systems, Shared Health Record/Interoperability Layer, Interlinked Registry
  • Taking steps to talk as a community to talk about pathways along with lessons learned and ways forward. This involves technical assistance along with fundemental initial steps to start exchanging data with PEPFAR such as mapping indicators and mechanisms.
  • Topics that this community wants to explore in-depth this year (open discussion)
  • Michael - Is there a strategic communication package for communicating with MoHs? Hoping people on this call will be part of the community to help us learn how to engage with MoH and being the first point of contact.
  • Plan to build strategic communications and this call is a great starting point to start it. Michael highlighted some groups that are missing that should participate in this call.
  • Denise - Are there other groups missing from this call?
  • Documentation - Stacey highlighted a marketing element to the documentation to describe importance of exchange to MoHs
  • Need compelling information that makes it obvious to Ministries why this is of benefit and why they should want to participate
  • Other ideas for the community to come together (open discussion)
  • If possible, share this instance of the MoH community call within your network to expand this community while we work on our strategic communications.
