How are people in the OpenHIE community helping the Ministry of Health to open up health facility data?

Please could we use this page to define what has worked.

Healthsites has made Freedom of Information Requests to Ministries of Health and received .csv lists of facility data.

This data has been loaded to www.healthsites.io and the Humanitarian Data Exchange and published under the ODBL data license.

Incentives to share health facility data under an open data license:

  1. Maintenance of the list
  2. Reduction of costs associated with the list maintenance
  3. Identification of data champions in the community
  4. Enabling citizens (Inforpreneurs, developers) to support the efforts of the MoH in addressing use cases or ancillary services  (defined by Health care organisations)
